Win 100% Biodegradable Eco Footwear from 1Moment – 5 Winners! {10/22; US & CAN; ARV $100}

by Charise Rohm Nulsen

I recently had the pleasure of trying a pair of 100% earth friendly footwear from OneMoment Canada. They are made in Spain and are brand new to North America. I love reducing my carbon footprint in any way that I can, so these shoes seemed perfect for me.

Biodegradable Footwear

In addition to the eco-friendly aspect of this shoe, I enjoy the easy wash and go material. This is a perfect shoe to use for gardening or to run around with the kids in the mud. They are so easy to rinse and dry!

The OneMoment shoes are also super easy to store. I can roll them up and fit them in a very small pocket of the already stuffed backpack that goes everywhere with my kids and me. If shoes get dirty or wet, or if my feet just get tired if I am wearing boots with heels, these are so easy to change into.

Although I haven’t tried these shoes for kids because my children are still too small, these would be excellent shoes for little ones with sized 10 feet and up to use to play outside. They have a strong grip, so they are perfect for preventing slipping, and they provide a natural range of motion, so your children will have the same feeling as they would running around barefoot.

The OneMoment shoes come in so many fun colors – Blue, Lime Green, Cactus Green, Yellow, White, Black, Pink or Red – and provide and fun, eco-friendly way to accessorize an outfit. The pair pictured above an below are Cactus Green.

One of the things I especially love about this shoe is that they are only $20 – and that includes FREE SHIPPING! You can buy several colors and keep these easy to wear shoes in various places for convenience like rolled up in your purse or on the porch.

As OneMoment describes:

Inspired by Amazonian tribesmen who paint their feet with natural latex for maximum grip on slippery rocks, OneMoment watershoes are made with a soft eco-polymer that molds to the shape of your feet, weighs under 165 grams, and rolls up easily to fit in tight spaces. Popular with the outdoor communities in Europe, OneMoment is now available in the U.S and Canada, and has been featured on Gizmag and Ubergizmo for their style, function and 100% biodegradability. The shoes are made in Spain, come in multiple colors and sizes for adults and kids, and cost $20 with free shipping.

Biodegradable Eco FootwearAnd if you would like to learn about how this amazing eco footwear is created:

The 01M shoes are comprised of an advanced corn and starch based biopolymer with a small percentage of natural oils and resins added for elasticity. They have passed strict European certification for 100% biodegradability and can be easily disposed of in the compost bin when worn out.

The shoe contains no glues, solvents or chemicals used in the traditional manufacturer of footwear such as:
– Azoic colorants
– Cancerigenous colorants
– Formaldehyde
– Pesticides
– Chlorinated phenols
– Organochlorine
– Heavy metals
– Nickel
– Solid ink particles
– Phthalates
– Organic tin compounds

Similarly, the ink and colorant masters are biodegradable, and based on 100% natural materials that conform to OEKO-TEX and other European regulation such as: EN 14046:2003-ISO14855-1:2005, EN 13432:2000 et ASTM D6400-04.

Each 01M shoe is made through a carbon compensated process that significantly reduces the amount of CO2 greenhouse gas emissions as well as energy consumption used in their manufacture. The injection molding machines have been modified to produce the shoe and packaging in a single injection operation, thereby reducing overall energy consumption by up to 80% over standard methods.
