A Fun & Easy Car Craft for Car Loving Toddlers

by Charise Rohm Nulsen

I’ve got a car and truck obsessed toddler, so today’s art project in my son’s class at Jamtime opened up a whole new world of arts and crafts for us. Before today, it never occurred to me to use one of my son’s little cars and trucks as a paintbrush, but I know it’s an approach to art that we will now be using frequently!

car artMaterials needed
- Black construction paper
- White non-toxic paint
- A small paint tray
- A plastic vehicle of your toddler’s choice

What to do
- Have your toddler dip the little vehicle into the tray of white paint, and then “drive” the vehicle all over the white paper to create tire tracks.

Enjoy!

I’ve never seen something like this before….this is a cute idea and so much you could do with it. Colors, glitter after it’s all painted, stickers, etc……thanks for sharing.

Oh how fun! Haha – my toddler will love this! Probably most of all because he won’t really have to get his hands dirty. He hates that lol.

My son would love this! Problem is he would want 10 cars to be part of the action! lol

That is interesting. Not sure my son would want to do that though; he is particular about his cars.

awesome! We do this with shaving cream (which is a lot more expensive esp. if you’re using the kind we buy!) I’m going to give it try and report back!

That’s brilliant! That trick never occurred to me.lol Maybe using different colors would be more creative. Kids will not only have fun playing with their car toys but will also be able to develop more creativity.
