Fall and winter are two of my favorites seasons, but unfortunately, they also require a lot of yard work. Unless you make certain green choices in your yard, you’re paying more while contributing to the emission of greenhouse gases and the consumption of fossil fuels.

So true, I think people forget that there still a lot of ways to green in your yard in the fall/winter. Of course we hardly do anything, so that has got to be the most green, lol!

Hey!!! Thanks for linking to the Green Baby DS Blog post about composting!!
That is a great little list. People don’t think about how much energy they waste on their yard. Don’t even get me started on watering the grass! Something like 80% of the irrigation used on crops in this country is on grass. And you can’t harvest one bit of it.

We compost all of our grass clippings and tree/shrub clippings!
thanks for the linky!
Great Advice! thanks for the link. Composting is still a great way to save and give your yard the care it needs.
I did a comparison with tomato plants, one tomato plant in a compost/dirt mixture and the other with regular planters dirt and the tomato plant that was in dirt/compost mixture had the most amazing tomatoes on it while the other was just ok. I highly suggest using compost in your garden.
